Divine Guidance in Transmission Process. Such remarkable accuracy is possible only if the Holy Spirit guided the transmission process. Ellen White confirmed that even though scribes may have made some copying mistakes, God Himself guarded the transmission process so that the Bible is God's trustworthy book. "This Holy Book has withstood the assaults of Satan, who has united with evil men to make everything of divine character shrouded in clouds and darkness. But the Lord has preserved this Holy Book by His own miraculous power in its present shape" (Selected Messages, 1:15, emphasis supplied)
The King James Version. Our popular King James Version Bible is based on the work of the foremost sixteenth-century Renaissance Dutch scholar, Desiderius Erasmus (1469-1536). To produce a copy of the New Testament text for publication on the newly estalished movable-type printing press, Erasmus went to Basel, Switzerland, where, upon examining a number of Greek manuscripts in its libraries, he selected a half-dozen of them as good representatives. After nine months of work, he produced an edited version from the chosen Greek manuscripts.
Although Erasmus himself acknowledged that his work was "done headlong rather than
edited," his Greek New Testament became the standard, almost the sole printed Greek text from the sixteenth century to the nineteenth. It is often known as "the Received Text" (Latin, Textus Receptus), a title given to it almost 100 years after Erasmus's death in publisher Elzevir's second edition of the work (1633). This Greek text, which later became the basis of

the King James Version of the Bible, "is not the 'received text' in the sense that it has been received from God as over against other Greek manuscripts. Rather, it is the 'received text' in the sense that it was the standard one at the time of the Elzevirs." 16 However, since the nineteenth century, when scholars began to discover other manuscripts, many translations of the Bible have been made. Unlike the King James Version, most of the recent translations did not use only a half dozen Greek manuscripts, but rather hundreds of early manuscripts; their Greek texts required not nine months of work, but rather years of labor; not one person, but dozens and scores of scholars have collaborated in producing the current standard Greek New Testament texts.
While there are variations, the differences between "the Received Text" of the King James Version and the present standard Greek texts are so minor that there is practically very little difference between the two. As explained earlier, if the uncertain words in a five-hundred page Greek Testament were assembled, they would occupy only four-tenths of a single page! Therefore, while the controversy over the merits and demerits of the King James Version cannot be dismissed lightly, neither should the issue be over-exaggerated. The degree of uncertainty raised by the various Greek texts is far less than the distortions introduced by contemporary interpreters.17
Usefulness of Different Versions. Just as the Holy Spirit guided in the copying and
re-copying of the ancient texts, one can also expect the Spirit to speak through the different translations--whether King James Version, New International Version, Revised Standard Version, New World Translation, Living Bible, Clear Word, etc.
Every translation is an imperfect human attempt to communicate, in contemporary
language, God's message which the prophets and apostles first communicated in Hebrew,
Aramaic, and Greek. Each Bible translation has its own strengths and weaknesses. One can overcome most of the translation distortions simply by using different Bible versions in studying the Scriptures.18 In the next chapter we shall offer suggestions on how to select appropriate Bible versions.
Those who are distressed by the proliferation of Bible versions will benefit from an
insightful statement found in the preface of some of the earliest editions of the King James Version:
"We do not deny, nay we affirm and avow, that the very meanest translation of the Bible in English set forth by men of our profession . . . containeth the word of God, nay is the word of God: As the King's speech, which he uttered in Parliament, being translated into French, Dutch, Italian, and Latin, is still the King's speech, though it be not interpreted by every translator with the like grace, nor peradventure so fitly for phrase, nor so expressly for sense, everywhere . . . [there is] no cause therefore why the word translated should be denied to be
the word, or forbidden to be current, notwithstanding that some imperfections and blemishes may be noted in the setting forth of it."19
Bible students need not be overly concerned about distortions of the Word at the hands of copyists or translators. Ellen White speaks to this issue when she wrote:

"Some look to us gravely and say, 'Don't you think there might have been some mistake in the copyist or in the translators?' This is all probable, and the mind that is so narrow that it will hesitate and stumble over this possibility or probability would be just as ready to stumble over the mysteries of the Inspired Word, because their feeble minds cannot see through the purposes of God. Yes, they would just as easily stumble over plain facts that the common mind will accept, and discern the Divine, and to which God's utterance is plain and beautiful, full of marrow and fatness. All the mistakes will not cause trouble to one soul, or cause any
feet to stumble, that would not manufacture difficulties from the plainest revealed truth"

A diligent student and an earnest seeker for truth, he had received the gospel from the Greek Testament of Erasmus. He fearlessly preached his convictions, urging that all doctrines be tested by the Scriptures. To the papist claim that the church had given the Bible, and the church alone could explain it, Tyndale responded: "Do you know who taught the eagles to find their prey? Well, that same God teaches His hungry children to find their Father in His word. My conclusions after spending large portions of days and nights reviewing links showing facets of the history of the King James Bible.
1. A single source or link wisely does not try to show every detail of KJV history, because the individual historian's mind can only grasp facets as important and report the findings. Multiple historical sources are needed for a complete picture.
2. The KJV Bible was not translated from what Matthew, Mark, Paul, Moses - themselves wrote. It was translated from accurate copies of what they and all the canonized Bible writers wrote, the majority or Antioch / Byzantium Text ( not the Alexandrian Text, not the psudoegraphia - the forgeries that forced Paul to defend himself and what he preached and had written or personally wrote ), also using as documents to be translated the Greek and Latin Texts of Erasmus, and the Bishop's Bible and the Geneva Bible, and other like earlier translations - and the errors were for a very large part corrected as the translations had been done in history up to that point, the KJV included.
None of the human Bibles were intended to be or were made to represent Divine fullness that superceeds humanity, therefore the only perfect Bible is Father God's Book with the Seven Seals at His right hand upon His throne in Heaven.
3. God preserved in the english language KJV in the purity that reflects salvation adequately enough to save humanity and guide humanity and fit them for harmony with Heaven despite no present human access to the Book with the Seven Seals, and it is consistant for God to do likewise with Bibles of other languages for God is no respecter of persons and that includes language groups.

We ask John what he saw and heard in the vision at Patmos, and he answers: "And I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon." {20MR 197.1}
There in His open hand lay the book, the roll of the history of God's providences, the prophetic history of nations and the church. Herein was contained the divine utterances, His authority, His commandments, His laws, the whole symbolic counsel of the Eternal, and the history of all ruling powers in the nations. In symbolic language was contained in that roll the influence of every nation, tongue, and people from the beginning of earth's history to its close. {20MR 197.2}
This roll was written within and without. John says: "I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon." The vision as presented to John made its impression upon his mind. The destiny of every nation was contained in that book. John was distressed at the utter inability of any human being or angelic intelligence to read the words, or even to look thereon. His soul was wrought up to such a point of agony and suspense that one of the strong angels had compassion on him, and laying his hand on him assuringly said, "Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof." {20MR 197.3}
John continues: "I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne."
As the book was unrolled, all who looked upon it were filled with awe. There were no blanks in the book. There was space for no more writing. [Rev. 5:8-14; 6:8, quoted.] {20MR 197.4}
4. The conversion process has a basic outline that uses the laws of the human heart to become reconciled to God > conversion. conversion is progressive and by nature reoccuring at ever deeper levels of heart and mind. God moves upon the individual and brings.
Information - that arrests the attention.
Conviction - brought on by the Information
Desire - created and intensified and cultivated / directed by the growing sums of Information and Conviction pressed into the conscience by God's touch
Action - as Desire is now strong enough to take action motivated by the Convictions sent by God, and guided by the Information as to what actions God wants taken.
Therefore God independent of a Bible translation's quality, accuracy, intentions, can arrest the attention, convict, and create desire to follow Him, if that version is a good road map compared to what the Bible Writers wrote, the actions have the potential to be guided aright in accordance with the Bible Writers ( Prophet's and Apostle's ) intentions. despite if it is in English, German, Spanish, Japanese........whatever human language.
5. Conversion is not the finishing of salvation's process. Sanctification is a partner of conversion as they both travel toward the position of the harmonizing with all understood parts of the Word of God and heart felt Agape Agapous Philio inspired surrender and obedience to God and Scripture even if understanding is not fully there which culminates in receiving the Seal of The Living God, verses Satan's seal for he is a dead userper god on death row.
Therefore Scripture being preserved as an accurate roadmap ought be included in the considerations when reading Jesus's personally given and delegated warning through Paul.
